We Came As Romans isn’t new to Warped Tour. They took on the traveling music festival for the first time in 2011, and now they’re back this year on the main stage. However, their stint on Warped isn’t all the sextet has going for them this summer. The Detroit natives released their third studio album, ‘Tracing Back Roots,’ on July 23 via Equal Vision Records, and it hit #8 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week. Impressive, right? The effort showcases just how far the band has come, how much they’ve grown, and that they’re hell-bent on staying.
Members Dave Stephens and Joshua Moore met up with us at the Atlanta, GA stop for our second installment of Rock Edition Gets Warped to talk about working with Aaron Gillespie — who’s featured on their track “I Survive” — a time frame for a fall tour announcement, and just how weird it was for Dave to do that whispering on “Ghosts.”
