Interview with Kevin Kneifel of Abel

Following another successful Kickstarter campaign, Abel wasted no time working on their second full-length, ‘Make It Right.’ As the title suggests, the new record needed to consist of nothing but the group’s best material. To ensure that it would, producer Matt Malpass (Lydia, All Get Out, Manchester Orchestra, The Cinema) was brought in to push the four-piece forward. Digging deeper, ‘Make It Right’ tackles intimate accounts of faith, sorrow, and love. The song “Daughter” deals with a friend’s miscarriage, “An Ultimatum” comes from the perspective of frontman Kevin Kneifel’s wife, and “Your Heart, Your Soul” describes the distance between the band and those who listen to their music. “It’s a lot about disappointment,” Kneifel says of the album. With a chuckle, he adds, “I think most people can connect with that.”

Kneifel was gracious enough to dish out details regarding Abel’s past, brand new record, and upcoming plans. Check it all out in our interview below.
