To commemorate their twentieth anniversary, Pearl Jam have revealed a “concert celebration” on Labor Day weekend at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI. Afterward, the band will embark on a ten-date Canadian tour.
The Alpine Valley concert, dubbed the “PJ20 Weekend,” will take place over two days and feature artists such as The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, and Mudhoney. Check out PJ20’s official website for the full lineup. Mudhoney will also provide support on all dates of the Canadian tour.
In other Pearl Jam news, the band announced that they are working on a new album, and frontman Eddie Vedder’s second solo release and live concert DVD will be released on May 31. The group recently reissued their second and third albums, 1993’s ‘Vs.’ and 1994’s ‘Vitalogy,’ on March 29. In addition, a Cameron Crowe-directed documentary and a book about the band will be released to celebrate the anniversary.
Tickets for the PJ20 Weekend go on sale Saturday, June 4. Those for the Canadian tour go on sale on Friday, May 27, except for the Montreal concert (Saturday, May 28). Two dollars from every ticket sold to the shows will be donated to the Vitalogy Foundation, which helps fund non-profit organizations selected by Pearl Jam.
