Dream Theater Announce Fall Tour

Dream Theater will be heading out on tour this fall. The North American trek begins on September 24 in San Francisco, CA and will wrap up on October 26 in Austin, TX. Labelmates Trivium will be along for the ride on select dates.

Dream Theater are set to drop their new record, ‘A Dramatic Turn of Events,’ on September 13 via Roadrunner Records. As previously reported, the album will mark drummer Mike Mangini’s first studio release with the band.

In addition to the standard release, the band have prepared a deluxe collector’s edition box set. The set includes an instrumental version of each song on the album, The Spirit Carries On (a 60-minute film documenting Dream Theater’s drummer auditions), a double-LP set of ‘A Dramatic Turn of Events’ (180-gram vinyl in gatefold jacket), a Dream Theater-branded custom turntable slipmat, a litho print of the album cover, and a digital download of the record. Also, 50 lucky winners will find a Dream Theater ticket for life in their set. Head here for more information.

The progressive metallers are currently lining up dates for a massive world tour. Guitarist John Petrucci remarked, “We are all very pumped about the release of ‘A Dramatic Turn of Events’ this September, as well as the world tour we’ll embark upon in support of the album. Our first leg will bring us throughout North America where we’ll showcase songs from the new album along with tons of fan favorites and a brand new tour production unlike any other that we’ve done before. We’re equally excited to have our friends in Trivium join us. It’s sure to be an incredible tour. We’re looking forward to seeing all of our friends on the road this fall!”
