Founding member and lead vocalist Devin Shelton has decided to part ways with Emery.
Shelton posted an official statement on Emery’s Facebook page last night (January 31):
“I just wanted to let you all know that I am taking an indefinite hiatus from Emery. This has been a very tough decision for me, since Emery has been an important part of my life for over a decade. I’m not saying I will never do anything else with Emery, but things change and life goes on, no matter how much I will miss it. Thanks so much for all your support over the years and I hope everyone continues to follow Emery all the same.”
The remaining band members also released a statement:
“Josh, Dave, Matt, and Toby would like to thank Devin for being one of the greatest guys we have ever met. He is and always will be one of our best friends. That will never change. We miss him already. Also, we definitely hope to work with Devin again in the future so keep your eyes open.”
According to a tweet made by the band back in December 2010, Emery’s new album, ‘We Do What We Want,’ will be released on March 22.
Emery’s new album, ‘We Do What We Want,’ is set for release on March 29 via Tooth & Nail Records.
