Los Angeles-based band Spindrift have launched a Kickstarter project to help fund the recording of their new album, ‘Classic Soundtracks.’ The group’s goal is to raise $5,000 towards the cost of recording their record at Hicksville Trailer Palace in Joshua Tree, CA. As of now, the band is approximately 25% of the way towards their goal. The remaining money has to be pledged by December 3, 2010 or the group won’t receive any funds.
Spindrift are currently in the middle of a U.S. tour performing new material for ‘Classic Soundtracks.’ The final date of their tour is at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, CA, a venue that has hosted the band many times in the past, just a few miles away from Hicksville.
Spindrift — who are possibly the only psychedelic spaghetti western band in the world — also recently signed to Xemu records (now home to Dead Meadow and The Morning After Girls) and hope to be release their record as soon as Spring 2011 via the indie label.
