Britpop darlings Pulp have announced that they will reunite in 2011. For the first time since 1996, all six members from Pulp’s classic lineup will share the stage. They will headline the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona on May 27 and the Wireless Festival in London on July 3. A statement from the band noted that they “will be playing songs from all periods of their career. Yes, that means they’ll be playing your favorites.”
Pulp formed in 1978, but found success to be elusive for many years until breaking through with a string of U.K. hits in the 90s. They broke up after releasing their seventh studio album, ‘We Love Life,’ in 2001. In the years since, Pulp’s front-man, Jarvis Cocker, has repeatedly denied that there was any possibility of Pulp reuniting.
It is not clear whether they will play any dates in the United States.
