Metric have announced plans to release their fifth studio album, ‘Synthetica,’ a follow-up to their 2009 effort ‘Fantasies.’ The new full-length will be available on June 12 in the US through the band’s own label as well as joint venture partner Mom + Pop.

‘Synthetica’ was recorded at Giant Studios in Toronto and New York’s Electric Lady Studios. The record was produced by guitarist Jimmy Shaw and mixed by John O’Mahony.

In a recent press release, Shaw described the album’s sound as “[…] the culmination of everything we’ve done. We’ve always had a sound in our heads that we hoped to realize. We finally heard it coming back out of the speakers this time.”
