Kyuss Albums to be Reissued on Tee Pee Records

New York-based independent label Tee Pee Records has announced that they will reissue Kyuss’ final three albums on vinyl. 400 copies of each record will be made available. The albums can be purchased at Tee Pee Records’ webstore.

The albums ‘Blues for the Red Sun,’ ‘Kyuss/Welcome to Sky Valley’ and ‘…And the Circus Leaves Town’ are considered to be seminal records in the stoner rock and desert rock movements, which largely grew out of the Joshua Tree/Palm Desert area that Kyuss called home. Along with Kyuss guitarist Alfredo Hernández, original members Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri went on to form Queens of the Stone Age, probably the best-known band to come out of the Palm Desert scene.

On the subject of a Kyuss reunion, Josh Homme was reported to have said, “Kyuss has such a great history that it would be a total error. I like that nobody saw Kyuss, and that it was largely misunderstood. That sounds like a legend forming to me. I’m too proud of it to rub my dick on it.” Nonetheless, original members John Garcia, Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri have announced that there will be a reunion album and tour in 2011 under the name Kyuss Lives!, with Belgian musician Bruno Fevery filling in for Homme. European and Australian dates have been announced; US dates have yet to be made public.
