Grinderman Release New Single, Receive Mojo Song of the Year Award

Grinderman received the Song of the Year award at the 2011 Glenfiddich Mojo Honours List Awards last night for their song “Heathen Child.” The track comes from the Nick Cave-fronted band’s 2010 album, ‘Grinderman 2.’

The garage punk anarchists are performing at ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror Festival (curated by Portishead and ATP) this Sunday at the London Alexandra Palace. Also performing are Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Swans, The Telescopes, Portishead and more.

Grinderman recently announced that they will perform at two Australian festivals this December: the Homebake Festival in Sydney on December 3, and the 21st Meredith Music Festival in Victoria on December 10.

The band also released their latest single, “Mickey Mouse & The Goodbye Man,” earlier this month. A black and white vinyl 12″ of “Mickey Mouse & The Goodbye Man” can be purchased through Mute Records, which includes the album version, a live version, and Joshua Homme’s remix of the song.
