Scottish rockers Glasvegas have recruited Jonna Löfgren as their new drummer.
Speaking with NME, frontman James Allan explained that the reason the band’s former drummer, Caroline McKay, left in March was due to the pressure of being in a band. “It was probably me saying, ‘Hit this drum, hit that drum’,” Allan commented. “Doing a demo, getting gigs, doing a demo, doing another demo then a record in New York then it’s playing at Wembley with U2, Glastonbury… she never asked for any of that.”
Allan also announced that Glasvegas’ forthcoming album, which the group worked on with producer Flood (U2, Depeche Mode), is expected to be released sometime in 2011.
