Foo Fighters have released a taste of the opening track, “Bridge Burning,” off their seventh as-yet-untitled studio album. (Check out the teaser below.)
Produced by Butch Vig and mixed by Alan Moulder, the band’s forthcoming full-length, which is due for release this Spring via- Roswell/RCA, was recorded entirely on analog tape in the garage of Dave Grohl’s home in California’s San Fernando Valley. It is said to be Foo Fighters’ heaviest album yet.
Pat Smear, past touring guitarist for Nirvana, now joins Foo Fighters on a permanent basis. Smear had been an original member of Foo Fighters, but left the band in 1997, returning as a touring guitarist in 2007.
Krist Novoselic of Nirvana also appears on the album, contributing bass and accordion to “I Should Have Known.”
Being released to theaters in conjunction with the album’s release is a feature documentary about the Foo Fighters’ history, produced by Spitfire Pictures and directed by Academy Award winner James Moll (The Last Days, Running The Sahara).
