The upcoming Harper Collins book ‘Louder Than Hell: The Unflinching Oral History of Metal’ is a comprehensive chronicle of metal featuring anecdotes by the greatest and most notorious metal and hard rock artists throughout history.
Authors Katherine Turman and Jon Wiederhorn — who are seasoned music journalists and have written for numerous publications including Guitar World, Spin, Revolver, Rolling Stone and Billboard — are giving amateur photographers a chance to have their pictures published alongside the words of their heroes.
“Anyone with quintessential metal images, killer crowd shots or pictures of recognizable bands rocking onstage or raging behind the scenes is encouraged to contribute,” noted the authors in a press statement.
-The photos must be of hard rock/metal bands, audiences or metal scenes.
-They must be digital and you must own them.
-The images of bands can be from all genres: classic metal, NWOBHM, thrash, crossover, death, black, grunge, industrial, metalcore, deathcore, etc…
The contest will run until March 1, 2011. Winners will be notified by email, have their picture(s) showcased on the book’s website and published in ‘Louder Than Hell: The Unflinching Oral History of Metal.’
The top five entries in the “Photos From Hell” contest will also receive a copy of ‘Louder Than Hell: The Unflinching Oral History of Metal’ and memorabilia signed by Alice Cooper.
