Danger Mouse to Produce New U2 Album

U2 has announced that their forthcoming album, which is tentatively titled ‘Songs Of Ascent,’ will be produced by Danger Mouse.

“We have about 12 songs with him,” Bono told The Age. “At the moment that looks like the album we will put out next, because it’s just happening so easily.”

According to Paul McGuinness, U2’s manager, the new record is due out next year.

Bono also revealed that the band is hoping to make a concept album based on the music Bono and The Edge wrote for the upcoming Spider-Man musical. “We haven’t convinced the rest of the band to do that yet,” commented Bono. “[Drummer] Larry [Mullen Jr] definitely has a raised eyebrow.”
